Joining GenderGP and Getting Your Medication

Submit Your Treatment Recommendation Request Form as a New Member

Give us your personal details, medical history, wishes and treatment preferences in the form. Once you submit this, we start crafting your Transition Pack.

  • If you want us to refer you to an independent prescriber for your medication, we’ll share your Transition Pack with them to create a prescription for you.
  • If your GP/healthcare provider will be prescribing for you, you can take your Transition Pack to them. The Transition Pack contains all the information required to prescribe your treatment and monitor your progress.

This can be done immediately.

One-Time Activation Fee and Subscription

After submitting the form, you’ll be invited become a GenderGP member by paying your one-time activation fee and setting up your subscription. You can read about our pricing here.

This can be done immediately.

Consent Session

The next step is to schedule and complete your consent session.

You can read more about consent sessions here.

This takes 1-14 days, depending on when you book your session.

Treatment Recommendation

After you’ve completed the consent session, if you haven’t already, fill the online form and generate your Treatment Recommendation.

You can refer your recommendation to an independent prescriber for a £15 fee:

  • Tick the box on the form and pay the fee.
  • Receive your prescription.
  • If you opted for an electronic prescription, it’s likely to arrive the next working day.
  • If you paid for a paper prescription, it should arrive within two weeks.

Alternatively, you can take your Treatment Recommendation to your GP and they can use it as guidance to prescribe for you.

This takes One Day for electronic prescriptions or up to two weeks for paper prescriptions.

Overall Timeframe

If you complete your consent session quickly and choose to refer your Transition Pack to an independent prescriber for an electronic prescription, you could have your medication in less than a week.

If it takes more time for you to complete your consent session and/or you opt for a paper prescription instead of electronic, it could take up to a month to get your medication.

If you choose to take your Treatment Recommendation to your GP instead of referring it to an independent prescriber, the time it takes is dependent on your GP.
