Getting New Prescription After Pharmacy Didn't Dispense

The pharmacy didn't dispense and I need another prescription. What should I do?

Occasionally, a pharmacist might only dispense medication if they are familiar with it. They also might not have the medication in stock or choose not to accept the prescription type you present them with for their own reasons. If you encounter this situation, we suggest contacting other local pharmacies.

If you need another prescription, as your electronic token has been opened and is now invalid, or if you need a different type of prescription or a different medication recommendation, you should submit another Treatment Recommendation request.

You will need to make payment within the form again, as this is what pays the independent prescriber and the postage of paper prescriptions (when requested). We are not responsible for pharmacy stock levels, individual pharmacy rules and procedures, or a medication type/dosage not being available in your local area.

We always advise you to check with your pharmacist to ensure they are happy to dispense and have stock before presenting them with your electronic token. You can show them the medication prescribed to you on your Treatment Recommendation to allow them to confirm this before you hand over your prescription.
