Pharmacy Restrictions: Keeping Your GenderGP Experience Safe and Legal

Pharmacy Restrictions: Keeping Your GenderGP Experience Safe and Legal

At GenderGP, we want to make sure everyone has easy access to the care they need. But with that accessibility comes the responsibility of using the service properly. There are strict rules in place to make sure no one abuses the system, especially when it comes to prescriptions.

How the Prescription Process Works

GenderGP itself doesn’t directly issue prescriptions. What we do is provide you with a Treatment Recommendation, which is essentially a detailed plan outlining the care you need. From there, you can opt that we refer you to an independent prescriber. This doctor reviews your case and decides whether to issue a prescription based on the Treatment Recommendation.

Once the prescription is sent to the pharmacy, the pharmacy has its own checks in place. Both the prescriber and pharmacy ensure that the medication is appropriate and that it’s not being requested in excess.

Can You Get Multiple Prescriptions?

Theoretically, someone could try to request a new Treatment Recommendation every day and take that to a prescriber in an attempt to get more medication. But that’s where the system kicks in: independent prescribers and pharmacies are trained to spot any unusual or potentially illegal activity. If they notice that someone is trying to get multiple prescriptions outside of what's medically necessary, they’ll stop it in its tracks.

What Happens if Someone Tries to Break the Rules?

If a prescriber or pharmacy identifies that someone is making inappropriate or illegal requests for medication, that person’s access to GenderGP will be terminated immediately. It’s not just against our policy—it’s against the law. Prescription fraud is taken very seriously, and we work with doctors and pharmacists to prevent it.

The Importance of Following the Rules

At GenderGP, your safety is our top priority. That’s why these checks are in place—to make sure you get the right care and avoid any risk from overmedication. We want you to have the best possible experience, but we need everyone to play by the rules.

So, trust the system, use it responsibly, and we’ll continue supporting you on your journey.
