It's disappointing that they're unable to support you in this way. If you need a bespoke letter for your doctor, you can request this during a Doctor Consultation or Nurse Consultation.
  • Alternative blood test options: If you're over 16 and not taking (or want to start) spironolactone, you can purchase an at-home finger prick blood test through the GenderGP Blood Test Portal (link and details below). Vitall, the service provider, will send your results directly to your email address.
  • Medication without blood tests: If you still need medication but can't access blood tests, you can request a Treatment Recommendation and we can provide a standard dose to keep you going until results are available for analysis.

Note: If you're taking spironolactone (or want to start), the finger prick test is not a suitable option as you'll need an intravenous blood sample to check your potassium level.
