What is the length of a counselling session and how many sessions do I need before I feel the benefits?

Counselling sessions with GenderGP providers are a standard 50 minutes in length.

The number of counselling sessions before a person feels benefits varies entirely depending on the individual. Many people enter counselling for three or four sessions and that's enough for them to achieve their goals. Others continue for months.

It all depends on how you experience the process and if you are finding it beneficial. Working with the right counsellor is really important and can have a big impact on your experience, which is why we have a team for you to choose from.
