Everything You Should Know About the Surgery Referral Session
One of the popular services on offer through GenderGP’s Independent Providers is the surgery referral session (£185). The session is available for both members and non-members and lasts approximately 45 minutes. As a possible outcome of the session, you may receive a surgery referral letter to use at a clinic of your choice (be sure to carefully research the requirements).
Preparing for the Session and What to Expect
In this session, the expert will attentively hear about your life experiences and your journey through gender transition, including any medical aspects. Keep in mind, this isn’t a test! Just share your story and take this opportunity to have all your questions addressed.
The expert will evaluate your grasp of the choice to pursue gender-affirming surgery but for the medical specifics and your options regarding the procedure, it’s best to consult with your selected surgeon. Make the most of this session to ensure you feel confident and prepared to take this significant step in your life.
Choosing Your Surgeon
It's essential to do your homework when selecting the right professional for your surgery. Start by searching for the specific type of surgery you need, along with your location and any surgeons you may have heard of. Take the time to explore their websites and gather as much information as you can.
Choosing a surgeon is a crucial step in your journey, so during consultations or when seeking second opinions, ensure you feel completely at ease with the surgeon and the services they provide.
While we don't have any affiliations with particular surgeons or services, our professionals frequently hear positive reviews about certain surgeons, which could be beneficial for your research.
