Adjusting Spironolactone Doses

Adjusting Spironolactone Doses

Your healthcare provider must consider your progress and any potential side effects by taking your preferences into account, when discussing modifications to your Spironolactone dose. They should inquire about your preference regarding increasing, maintaining, or decreasing your dose. Additionally, they should assess your testosterone levels and monitor your blood pressure as part of the evaluation.

If Testosterone (T) is less than 3 nmol/L:

  • If your Blood Pressure (BP) is low, there is no need to increase the dose of Spironolactone.
  • If your BP is low, you may be recommended to decrease the dose or change your blocker.

If Testosterone (T) is less than 3 nmol/L and BP is normal:

  • Consider increasing the Spironolactone dose.

If Testosterone (T) is greater than 2.9 nmol/L and BP is low:

  • You may be recommended to decrease the dose or change your blocker.

If Testosterone (T) is greater than 2.9 nmol/L and BP is normal:

  • Consider increasing the Spironolactone dose.

In conclusion, your wishes are of utmost importance, and ensuring your well-being and safety is our top priority.
