Medication Brands Across Different Countries

As healthcare becomes more global, accessing treatments like hormone therapy can still present challenges due to the variation in medication brands and formulations across different countries.

Why Do Medication Brands Differ Across Countries?

Pharmaceutical companies often work within different regulatory, pricing, and marketing conditions depending on the country. Medications like estradiol or testosterone may be sold under different brand names – even if the active ingredients are the same. This can cause confusion, particularly when members are ordering medications internationally or moving between countries.

GenderGP’s Role: Safe and Effective Recommendations

We recommend the active ingredients and dosages that align with your treatment plan, but we may not always know the specific brands available in your country. Local pharmacies may stock different products, and your pharmacist should be able to help you find the right medicine from what's available locally.

Members’ Responsibility: Checking Local Availability

Check with your local pharmacy to confirm which brands or formulations are available. When you make your Treatment Recommendation request, let us know the specific brand you want to use based on local availability.

The recommended brand is not available in my country

If the recommended brand is unavailable, check with your local pharmacy for the equivalent or alternative brands of the active ingredient prescribed. Once you’ve identified which brand is available locally, choose that when making your request with GenderGP, and we can adjust your Treatment Recommendation accordingly.
